United Way in Drew County has named the community programs that will receive grant dollars in the 2016-17 funding cycle. United Way will award a total of $12,000.00 to help support programs and projects of local nonprofit organizations specific to Drew County.

The city of Monticello received its new, leased garbage collection truck, Wednesday.

The mayor told us, “Since we needed a truck soon, they sent us one that was at a show in Las Vegas.  They will be around in a few days to take the graphic off.”

Dorothy Davis turns 99, today.

She is celebrating with her three daughters, four grandchildren and six great grandchildren, numerous other family members and many many friends!
