Doug Hampton, a Monticello resident and Drury Outdoors team member, along with his wife Brandy and 13 year old son Coltin, were chosen this past fall to be a part of the popular Outdoor Channel television show “Dream Season.” The title for this year’s show is Dream Season 7 “Celebrity”. Four of the regular Drury teams were asked to take on a national celebrity for a hunting partner, as well as hunt and video their immediate family.

Hampton and team mate Rod Owen of Missouri, teamed up with J.W. Hart from the Professional Bull Riders association(P.B.R.) to form “Team Hart”. Team Hart took twelve animals on video this season consisting of eleven bucks and a boar hog. Hampton and his family accounted for five of the bucks and the hog. Read the rest of this entry »

Blake Pace, age 12, harvested this 11-point in late December, behind his house on Lacey-New Hope Road.

Blake’s parents are Paul Jr. and Christy Pace.

Davis Smith II, age 7, killed this 9 point in Phillips County on December 27th with the new 410 he got from Santa.

He is the son of Davis and Wendy Smith of White Hall and grandson of Hugh and Vicky Smith of Monticello and great-grandson of Dorothy Davis of Monticello.

Reagan Berryman, 9 years old, killed this 3 point while hunting with his dad.

This is his first deer to harvest with a compound bow.

He is the son of Jamie and Tiffany Berryman of the Green Hill Community.

Mark Pevey bagged the deer on December 9th, while hunting at Pevey Hunting Club in Monticello.

This 6 point buck had an 18 ¾ inch spread, with his main beams measuring 22 inches, and scored 88 7/8.

Benjamin Loveless, a 5th grade student at Drew Central harvested  his second of the season, while hunting with his father in the Valley Community.

His parents are Jeff & Tonya Loveless, of the Valley.

Clark Jarrett killed this 10 point while hunting with his Dad.

This is his first buck to kill.

He is the son of Vaughn and Stephanie Jarrett of Monticello.

Seth Baker killed this big 9 point, while hunting north of Monticello.

The 9 point rack measured 17 1/2″ inside.

Jesse Mosley age 5, harvested his first deer, Saturday,  while hunting with his dad.

Jesse is the son of Tasha & Raymond Mosley!

Jack Thiele of Monticello killed this 9 point earlier this week,  at Tennessee Spur Hunting Club

This buck was killed by Larry Carter of Monticello.

It was an 8 point with a 16 1/2 inch spread, and was killed in Drew County.

Ali Jo Cruce’s first deer was taken while hunting with her dad in December 2nd.

She is 4 years old, and the daughter of Wayne and Sissi Cruce of Monticello.

The winners of the Big Buck contest that was held at Donaldson’s Gun Shop, which was sponsored by The Campbell Group have been announced.

Leah Tutt won the adult division with her 8 point, which scored 125 5/8.

Drake Hill won the youth division. His 10 point scored 108 3/8.

Phillip Stephenson age 7, son of Len and Jennifer Stephenson, killed his first deer November 25, 2009.

Mallory Clavet age 11, daughter of Len and Jennifer Stephenson and Buddy and Angie Clavet, killed her first deer November 21, with her pappaw, Phillip Bonnette.

Lucas Linely of Monticello, the son of Christy Mansfield of Monticello and Justin Linely of McGehee, harvested this 7 point weighing 195lbs Friday afternoon.

Lucas is 11 years old, and was hunting in Arkansas City. He was one of five children in the state of Arkansas to have the chance to hunt on this particular land, which was done by a drawing of names by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission.

Trenton Hoskins, 8 years old, shot his first buck, Saturday, while hunting with his dad at the Pevey Hunting Club in Monticello. This is his 2nd deer, the 1st was a doe just 13 days before.

Trenton is the son of Roger “Bubba” & Kristine Hoskins of Monticello and Leslie & Phil Hornaday of McGehee. He is the grandson of Roger & Sandy Hoskins of Woodlawn, Rick & Patricia Barnhardt of Star City, Mark & Tami Pevey , and Jerry Pevey all of Monticello and Gary & Elizabeth Hornaday of Fordyce.

Maddie Grant killed this spike on Nov.27, while hunting with her dad on a family hunting lease in Drew County.

This was her first deer.

Maddie is the 8 year old daughter of Mark and Tulita Grant.

Ansin Lattimore killed his first deer, a 10 point last saturday, while hunting with his dad.

He is the son of Orland and Kimberly Lattimore.

Elise McDuff killed her first deer this morning 11/29/09, while hunting with her dad.

She also recently celebrated her 9th birthday on 11/24/09.

She is the daughter of Levi and Melanie McDuff of Monticello.

Mark Grant Jr. killed this 5 point on 11-26-09 hunting with his grandfather Garry Grant on a family hunting lease in Drew County. This was his first deer. Mark Jr. is the son of Mark and Tulita Grant of Monticello and he is six years old.

Jacob Chapman, the 6 year old son of Jason and Amy Chapman, killed his first deer on Nov. 21, while hunting with his dad in the Beulah community.

Bo Evans, age 12, harvested this 8 point, while hunting with his dad this weekend in Drew County.

Haley Quillen killed her first deer (4 point) November 21st while hunting with her dad in Wilmar.

She is the daughter of Tabatha and David Quileen JR.

Kyle Trantham killed this 10 point in the Beulah community on Novenber 21st.

Kyle is the son of Ricky and Casey Trantham.

Ruthie Griffin harvested her first buck deer, which was a 7 point on Sunday November 22, 2009 while hunting near HWY 425 South of Monticello.

Connor Doherty, the 6 year old son of Ryan and DeAnna Doherty, harvesteded this 8 point buck Monday afternoon while hunting with his dad.

Mason Philley, age 9, harvested this 8 point on November 14, 2009…..here in Drew County.

Ricky Trantham killed this 10 point on Thursday, November 19th.

Brice Stafford killed this 8 point while hunting with his Dad.

 Brice is the son of Jim & Amanda Stafford of the Barkada community.

This 8 pt buck with a 19 1/8″ inside spread was taken by 9 year old Brianna Yount on her 9th birthday, on November 18, after school while hunting with her aunt.

Brianna downed this big buck with a .243 and helped with the tracking job. She said this was her birthday wish, and what a wish it was when this big boy came through the woods on her grandfathers farm in Drew Co. outside of Monticello.

Her parents are Chris and Deborah Yount of Monticello.

Anna Lafever, the 12 year old daughter of Eddie and Michelle Lafever, killed her first deer on Saturday Nov. 14, while hunting in the Wilmar area with her dad and brother Thomas.
