Monticello Family has a “Dream Season”

March 3rd, 2010 by Submitted

Doug Hampton, a Monticello resident and Drury Outdoors team member, along with his wife Brandy and 13 year old son Coltin, were chosen this past fall to be a part of the popular Outdoor Channel television show “Dream Season.” The title for this year’s show is Dream Season 7 “Celebrity”. Four of the regular Drury teams were asked to take on a national celebrity for a hunting partner, as well as hunt and video their immediate family.

Hampton and team mate Rod Owen of Missouri, teamed up with J.W. Hart from the Professional Bull Riders association(P.B.R.) to form “Team Hart”. Team Hart took twelve animals on video this season consisting of eleven bucks and a boar hog. Hampton and his family accounted for five of the bucks and the hog. Read the rest of this entry »

Catch a Dream Program is a Huge Success

February 22nd, 2010 by Submitted

On September 5th of 2009, Monticello’s Dream Season team “Team Hart” held a benefit at the First United Methodist Church in Monticello. The benefit was for the Catch-A-Dream Foundation, which takes children with life threatening illnesses on a hunting or fishing trip of a lifetime at no expense.

After numerous events, including the one held in Monticello, the four Dream Season teams raised a total of $250,000 for the charity. This amount will see to it that 63 terminally ill children will get to go on their trip of a lifetime. Catch-A-Dream is similar to the Make-A-Wish organization. The difference is, the C.A.D. Foundation allows the child to have a wish that includes the use of bows, guns, or other types of hunting equipment.

Team Hart would like to thank the people and businesses of Monticello, as well as the other businesses and people from southeast Arkansas, who helped make the benefit a huge success.
