The mayoral debate invited Jason Akers, Bart Gregory and Joe Rogers, but Gregory and Rogers were unable to attend.
That was followed by debate between the Drew County Sheriff’s Candidates, incumbent Democratic Sheriff Mark Gober and the challengers, the independent candidate Tim Nichols and the Republican nominee James Slaughter.
The debates were sponsored by Phi Alpha Theta National History Honor Society and Pi Sigma Alpha International Political Science Honor Society.
