Clarissa Pace has recently announced her candidacy for the position of Alderman on the Monticello City Council.
When asked “why you are running for city council now?”, she responded:
“I have been a participating member in this community since I moved here. It has been with sports, education, politics, spiritual, you name it. I was instrumental in moving our Monticello school board to observe MLK Day in the school system, I helped revive the Neighborhood Watch program in my community which helped shed light on doing something about abandon homes in Monticello neighborhoods, inspired our former mayor to put up speed bumps to eliminate neighborhood speeding, and actively bring back the noise ordinance and curfew. At the very end of Monday night’s Tea Party political forum, Priscilla Copelin Abernathy questioned the two men involved in the incident discussed in social media where her supporters had taken down a Laurie Bridewell sign on video. After their presentation, one of the moderators asked if anyone wanted to comment, but the other candidate had left the building.
