Carole Bulloch to Seek Re-election as Justice of the Peace
Published by Joe Burgess February 19th, 2008 in Elections.Carole Bulloch, of Monticello, has announced her candidacy for re-election to a 4th term as Justice of the Peace, Position 4 on the Drew County Quorum Court, in the upcoming Democratic primary.
Bulloch holds a B.B.A. in marketing and economics from Texas Tech University, in Lubbock, TX.
For the past 26 years, she has served as a director, and is presently a consultant for Mary Kay Cosmetics, in Dallas, TX., and owns the Christmas Shop, in Monticello.
She was elected to the Monticello School Board for 3 terms, and served 2 years as president. In her 2nd term on the Drew County Quorum Court, she was elected to the Quorum Court Executive Board of the Arkansas Counties Association, in Little Rock, and in 2007 was elected secretary of the Association.
Carole is married to Wm. C. Bulloch of Monticello. They have 2 children, Elizabeth Bulloch Barnett, of Dallas, TX, and Sarah Bulloch Wyrick, of Tyler, TX. They are members of First Baptist Church.
During my tenure on the Quorum Court, we have replaced the old courthouse roof with a new one, funded by a grant from Arkansas Historical Preservation Society in 2006 in the amount of $212,000, totally refurbished the steps and front landing of the courthouse with another grant from AHPS in 2007 for $126,000, bought 6 new cars for the Sheriff’s dept., and all county employees received a 5% raise in salaries for 2008. The 1% county road tax provided the county road dept. the funds to chip & seal and/or pave 37 miles of roads in Drew County, and a New Family Life Center has begun new construction in their facility that will have a projected payroll of $1.5 million for this area.
We have many loyal and dedicated employees and elected officials that help provide so many services to us all, and I am very proud to be associated with them.
“It has been a pleasure to have had the opportunity to serve on the Quorum Court, and to serve the citizens of Drew County, and I am thankful to each citizen for the confidence they have shown me. I humanly ask to be given another opportunity to serve all citizens of this county.”
