The driver of the vehicle that ran into Holmes Chapel Presbyterian Church Tuesday night was Eric Flenory.  He was charged with DWI III for Tuesday night’s events.

Flenory had also reportedly been released from the Arkansas Dept. of Corrections earlier in the day.

Around 8 p.m. Tuesday night, a car driving across E. McCloy street, onto Buck Henderson, lost control, and crashed into the northeast corner of Holmes Chapel Presbyterian Church.

It appears that the vehicle slid across the church yard, spinning counter-clockwise, struck the corner of the church, and then coming into contact with the fence behind it. 

The driver was taken to the County Detention Facility for an alcohol test.

The Monticello Police Dept. worked the accident, Triple A towed the vehicle, and utility crews also responded.
