“Captain” Premier Saturday – “Impressive in Its Quality & Magnitude”

July 20th, 2015 by

Captain, a full length movie, produced and directed by Warren’s Rob Reep, premiered Saturday at the Warren Cultural Center. A full house of around 750 were in attendace to see the event, based on the life and history of Hugn Bradley, whom Bradley County is named after.

The film showed Bradley’s life as grew from being “the family’s little brother,’ to a close, personal friend of future president, Andrew Jackson (also from Tenneessee).

The war of 1812, and the Battle of New Orleans, were also well portrayed by 150 actors, from southest Arkasas, including over 20 from Monticello.

DVDs of Captain are available here.

The film details story and chronicles the saga of the Bradley family from Round Lick, Tennesseeas they join the Tennessee Volunteers and eventually claim their land bounties in Arkansas. It is a story of patriotism, frontier hardships, and settlement west of the Mississippi River.

Local participants include :
Greg Fallon plays General John Coffee
Dustin Prince plays Thomas “Wooley” Wooldridge
Jennifer Neely Fryer plays Martha Hunter Bradley
Danny Chisom plays Frederick Stump
Brandon Nicholson plays Thomas Shaw
Others from Monticello in the film are Alex Borchardt, Haley McLemore, Lareina Grundy, Raymond Chisom, Melissa Wilson, Lila Wilson, Caroline Wilson, Mike and Kim Pesaresi, Pam and David Oliver, Will Oliver, Christopher Blake Endsley, Jacob Valentine, Stratton Brantley, and Jacob Valentine.

Rob Reep has produced a number of documentaries: The Saline, Timber, Singled Out, etc. This is his first full-length feature film.

“I spent a year researching for this film and six months writing and editing the screenplay. After holding casting calls, I worked for 11 months filming this story. Now that edits are complete, I am excited to share it with others,” says Reep. “The cast and crew of near 150 put their hearts and souls into this release.”

“For anyone who loves history, this film is sure to delight,” adds Reep. “The fact that it is about settlement in Arkansas really brings it close to home.”

I went to see this movie last night and it was very good. It was directed very good and the actors did a fantastic job. Some of the actors have a great opportunity to move on with their career. You should be proud of these actors and directors of this film coming from a small southern area in arkansas and other areas. We have alot of talent in our area and if given a chance to use it they come thru with flying colors. If you get a chance to see this you wont be sorry if you take advantage of it.

  3. Allice Burns Reynolds says:

I just purchased this film on Ebay as Frederick Stump played by Danny Chisom is my 5th great grandfather. I am very excited to see this!
