Burn Ban Issued for Monticello – County Waiting on AFC Recommendation.

MLive interviewed County Judge Robert Akin, Thursday afternoon. Akin stated that he will fully rely on the Arkansas Forestry Commission to make recommendations as to when Drew County needs to be placed under a burn ban. He will take such action at that time.
Note: the grass fire, which grew into a pasture fire, at 12:55, Thursday afternoon , was extinguished by the Monticello Fire Department.
