After defeating Concord in the season-opener earlier in the day, the University of Arkansas at Monticello volleyball team remained unblemished in the loss category with a 3-1 win over Francis Marion on Friday night. Final game scores of the match were 25-19, 18-25, 29-27 and 25-23.

Francis Marion is the host school of the tournament that UAM is participating in this weekend, and is also the alma mater of UAM head coach Nicole Smith.

Unofficially, the Blossoms (2-0) were led by efforts of junior Nicole Ferguson (5-10, RS, Brentwood, Tenn.), junior Cayla Knapp (6-0, MB, South Lake Tahoe, Calif.) and junior Jalynn Thornton (6-1, OH, Pleasant Grove, Utah), who had 14, 13 and 12 kills in the four-game match, respectively.

The Blossoms continue play in the Francis Marion Swamp Fox Tournament Saturday with a match against GSC-East opponent Valdosta State starting at 10 a.m. central time. The team will conclude its play in the tournament Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. against Glenville State.
