The Monticello Billies will begin their Friday Night activities this Friday evening with a tailgate at 5:30pm.

The Tailgate will be held in the parking area behind the Home stands. Tables and chairs will be sent up under the Union Bank & Commercial Bank Tents. Everyone is invited to attend and bring a dish to share. Fans in the past have brought a cooler of drinks, cookies, chips, dip, veggie trays, wings, pizza, BBQ, Hotdogs, and desserts. Just bring your dish on a throw away plate or bag. The Boosters will supply all paper products and serving dishes. The Boosters really want to encourage all fans to come to the tailgate and begin their Football Experience with some Billies Fun.

During the tailgate at about 6pm the Junior Football League will hold a passing contest with prizes. The passing contest will take place near the tailgate area. There will be different age divisions and boys will throw separately from girls. All children preschool through 12th grade are invited to take part in the contest.

The Monticello Junior Football League players and cheerleaders will also join Billies Fans in the spirit line this week. The entire Monticello Junior Football League & Cheerleaders have been invited to come to the game & join in the festivities. The Senior Billies football Team will be greeted by fans, as well as, all these future Billies, so get to the game early and enjoy the spirit line.

This season the Monticello Billies are playing without one of their players. On the fourth of July the Billies lost Courtland Jones #21. He has been greatly missed by all the players and by all who knew him. The Billies players are wearing “CJ” on their helmets in honor of Courtland and they would ask the community to turn out for Friday Night’s game in memory of Courtland and to honor Courtland’s family. We will observe a moment of silence in his name and we will play and cheer Friday Night for Courtland. Please join us to remember this young man.

Kick Off is scheduled for 7pm and the Billies are looking forward to putting their skills to the test against Little Rock Mills. Don’t forget to wear your Billie Colors & turn out to support our fine young people on Friday Night.

I hope to see you all at the game…I’ll be the one in Billie Blue!
