Betty Lindsey, Drew County’s Woman of the Year, Passes Away Thursday Night

Betty Lindsey, a community and church leader, passed away, Thursday night, unexpectedly.
Mrs. Lindsey was honored as the Chamber of Commerce’s “Woman of the Year” 4 months ago.
Mrs. Betty also had served as president of the Drew Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and was recently awareded the “State Auxiliary Member of the Year”.
She was a member of Pilgrim Rest, and served as the AME corresponding secretary of the Women’s Missionary Society. She was a member of Eastern Star, and was head of recruitment for the Monticello chapter of the NAACP.
Mrs. Lindsey is survived by her husband, George Lindsey; a daughter, Natasha Acker of Little Rock: a son, Kevin Lindsey of , Minneapolis, MN.: she had 4 grandsons.
Wake will be held Monday evening at 6 p.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home, with the funeral service to held Tuesday at 1 p.m., at Pilgrim Rest.
