Ben Gilmore Raises Nearly $60K in First 60 Days of State Senate Campaign

October 16th, 2019 by

Ben GilmoreGilmore Endorsed by Crossett Mayor, Portland Mayor, Ashley County Judge, Bradley County Judge, and Drew County Judge

Ben Gilmore, Republican candidate for State Senate District 26, raised $57,684.98 in the third quarter from over 100 individual contributions. Over 68% of the total contributors live in the district, and Ben has nearly $57,000 cash on hand. District 26 includes Ashley, Bradley, Chicot, Drew, and portions of Cleveland, Desha, and Lincoln Counties.

Gilmore today also received endorsements from Crossett Mayor Scott McCormick, Portland Mayor Gary Morgan, Ashley County Judge Jim Hudson, Drew County Judge Robert Akin, and Bradley County Judge Klay McKinney.

As Mayor of Crossett, I’ve had the pleasure of working closely with Ben on a number of issues, including economic development,” said Mayor McCormick. “He is a hard worker and knows what it takes to bring jobs to southeast Arkansas. We need a strong voice in Little Rock, and Ben is the right choice.”

“Ben has my support for State Senate for a number of reasons,” said Mayor Morgan. “During the floods of 2016, Ben was there for Portland when many were not and helped us during the aftermath and cleanup. Portland needs a State Senator we can count on, and we can most certainly count on Ben. He’s proved it.”

“Ben is the leader we need representing us in Little Rock,” said Judge Hudson. “While working for Congressman Westerman and Lt. Gov. Griffin, Ben advocated for Ashley County and southeast Arkansas, and I know he will continue to work tirelessly on our behalf.”

“Now more than ever, District 26 and the people of Drew County need strong representation in our capital city,”said Judge Akin. “That’s why I’m proud to support Ben Gilmore for State Senate. He knows the issues facing our region, and he understands what it takes to bring more jobs and economic prosperity to southeast Arkansas.”

“Bradley County deserves a State Senator who will work hard for the people of southeast Arkansas, and I believe Ben Gilmore is that person,” said Judge McKinney. “Ben knows the area, the people, and the critical issues facing our district, and I am proud to endorse him for State Senate.”

Gilmore issued the following statement:

“I’m honored to receive these endorsements from leaders who know southeast Arkansas, understand the issues facing the region, and know how important it is to have a strong voice in the state senate. Their confidence in me, coupled with the overwhelming support for my campaign from right here in southeast Arkansas, is humbling. This support shows we have the momentum going into 2020, and that the people of District 26 are ready for a senator that will boldly advocate for them, for conservative values, and for policies that will grow jobs and the economy.”

About Ben Gilmore

Ben Gilmore currently serves as Deputy Chief of Staff and Communications Director for Lieutenant Governor Tim Griffin, where he has boldly advocated for state government reform, lower taxes, and STEM education. While attending the University of Arkansas at Monticello, Ben worked at the Crossett Public Library where he served in the Public Relations role. While at the library, Ben advocated for reading and STEM education. Ben has actively served the community and supported economic development efforts in southeast Arkansas.
