Posted below is the “2014 State of the City Report” as submitted by Mayor Allen Maxwell.
Currently Arkansas state law bans yard waste from disposal in Arkansas landfills. The City encourages all citizens to not dispose of yard waste with regular house hold trash and participate in some form of yard waste reuse; whether it is city collection, backyard composting, or the use of a mulching lawn mower.
Monticello offers weekly Tuesday curbside collection to residents wishing to participate in the city yard waste collection program.
Free Mulch is available at the City Transfer Station located at 1466 Old Warren Road.
Please call Cathy Davis to set up an appointment for pick up at 870-367-4407.
The city of Monticello will be closed Monday, October 14th.

Drew County District Court cancelled a day of court, due to weathe conditions. If you were suppose to be in court January 15, your new court date will be February 19, at 2:00 PM.
Monticello needs help protecting drainage ditches
The City of Monticello is responsible for maintaining storm drains in public areas and along city streets. Storm drains and ditches divert the water and debris after a storm or rain shower away from road surfaces, public access areas or low basins where water collection could be unhealthy or dangerous.
We start a new year by turning the corner with a new set of goals for our great City of Monticello. A new direction will begin with new priorities. The safety of our citizens, City employees, and visitors is the number one priority for our city within all city departments.
