Art exhibit; Weevil Welcome coming up
Published by UAM News January 16th, 2007 in News, Schools.The graphite drawings and prints of Arkansas artist DebiLynn Fendley are on display now through February 1 in an exhibition in the main gallery of the Taylor Library and Technology Center at the University of Arkansas at Monticello.
The exhibition is free and open to the public. Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. A closing reception and artist’s talk will be held Thursday, February 1 from 3-4 p.m.
Fendley is an Arkadelphia resident who is currently an adjunct professor of drawing and design at Henderson State University. She has exhibited her work in numerous solo, juried, and group exhibitions both throughout Arkansas and nationally. She is represented by Blue Moon Gallery in Hot Springs. UAM will host Weevil Welcome Days for high school seniors and their parents on Friday, February 9 and Monday, February 12 from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon in the Fine Arts Center, according to Mary Whiting, director of admissions.UAM admissions representatives will provide information on how to be admitted to the university, availability of scholarships and financial aid, how to select an academic major, and student activities. Representatives from the UAM Colleges of Technology at Crossett and McGehee will be on hand to discuss technical programs on their respective campuses. Students and their parents will also be given tours of the campus and residence halls.
