Armed Robbery with a Brick

At 3:14 AM, on March 12, the EZ Mart at the intersection of Gaines and Hyatt Streets was the victim of an unusual aggravated robbery.
The manager of the store reported to police that a black female came into the store, while the clerk was in the cooler.
The female had a brick with her, which she threw at the clerk. She missed, and the clerk was uninjured.
The suspect then went behind the counter, where she took cigarettes, cigars and a key out of the cash register.
Erica Williams, age 29, of Monticello, was arrested, facing charges of aggravated robbery and theft of property, that afternoon by Monticello Police.
Williams remains in the Drew County Jail on a $40,000 bond.
