Armed Robbery at Midnight

Minutes before midnight, Thursday night, Monticello Police dispatch received a 911 call reporting an armed robbery at the EZ Mart on Highway 425 South.
According to reports, a single black male, wearing a dark hoodie entered the store, and robbed the business, threatening the clerk with a handgun.
The suspect is to have believed to have fled the scene on foot, running toward City Park.
A Minimal amount of cash was taken, due to the use of time lock safes.
MPD is investigating the crime, and would appreciate any information from public who may have seen any suspicious vehicles or person in the area.
