Around 9 PM, Sunday night, 2 unidentified suspects robbed Jenkins Quick Stop on Highway 278 East.

The suspects fled on foot; no one was injured.

The two photos above are of the suspect that entered the building.

Anyone who may recognize him, is asked to call MPD at 367-3411

An undisclosed amount of money taken at gun point, by 2 male suspects. One suspect grabbed a female clerk when she came outside to throw away the nightly trash.

  1. Christianwoman says:

They have got to get tougher on these thugs, thieves, and crackheads down there, and in Star City too. They are getting away with way to much crime,, they need to make an example out of a few of them, and give them the max in prison time. Or it is just gonna get worse, like in the big cities.

  2. Really?! says:

I agree there should be an example made, but how can you with all of the liberalism? Too many people like to be put in prison. Ridiculous!

  3. Bonhoffer says:

Someone out there knows this person. Man up and call the police.

  4. rebbecca wright says:

Desperate for money now when caught they Will have no freedom cause of that gun people like them gives guns a bad reputation

  5. ShortStaticBurst says:

I think we see too many people have an immediate knee jerk reaction the moment something like this happens. We are already tough on crime. In fact violent crime has been on the decline since the !960’s nationwide.
I also think the Drew County and Monticello Police Department do a decent job in handling things.

Let’s hope someone recognizes the criminals and alerts the proper authorities.

  6. Weevilman says:

Sad reality is, if those employees were to have killed these punks…he or she would be involved in some sort of liberal/civil rights mess. However when these punks are caught, they will get a warm bed and meal on my tax dollars in the pen.

  7. Crooks R stupid says:

The places have money drop safes, which is why they can’t ever make change for large bills. Since we already are tough of crime these dummies just scored a minimum of 10 years in the state pen for stealing $50. Just wait. In a few weeks these schmucks will run a stop sign wearing that hoody with that shotgun in the trunk with a $2 worth of Meth in the cup holder and they’ll get 15-20 for stealing $50 and running a stop sign.

  8. Fed up says:

This town needs to keep criminals in the jail house. Instead of capture and release on a small bond then they commit more crimes. Like DUI or DWI nail their asses to the walls they are going to do it again and again.
