This year my wife and I got the crazy’s and are doing a 24 hr. super plunge starting the 28th at 12 noon and finishing at 12noon the next day……Yes that is 24 times we are jumping in the ice cold waters!!!!!!! Come out and watch.
Hats off to Jason and Karen Caldwell, who do so much for Special Olympics in this town. Its because of you and your endless giving that we have a good showing of Special Olympics. Thanks for all that you do.
Citizen, there is another Karen that I must add to your post and that is my neice Karen Elise Donham (Ked). Ked has been the Area Director for a few years now. Ked is the one who puts all of the athletic events together and schedules the athletes in their heats.
If there is one thing that Jason, Ked and I share is wanting everybody know that being special need isn’t a disease and it is not asked for. The things contagious about “special needs” is the smiles, the warmth in your heart and the pride that you feel for the athletes. It these things that we do what we do.
I am challenging the parents of the Monticello School District for a donation for Mrs. Brandy Lloyd and Mrs. Machell Dailey, who are employees of Monticello Middle School, to take the Polar Bear Plunge. Donations or pledges can be made at the MMS pricipal’s office. Our goal is at least $500.
Thanks
Two thumbs up for Brandy and Machell for being interested in “FREEZIN FOR A REASON”!!!!
Will there be any extra volunteers needed?
Candace, I’m not really for sure how many volunteers will be there but if you would like to help out….come on out! I am sure we can find somewhere for you to help out at.
