Announcement: Blood Drive January 17

"The American Red Cross is in immediate need of blood!  We are in short supply of blood across the state."
 
The Drew Central High School will sponsor a blood drive on Wednesday, January 17 from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
 
Please, please consider donating…anyone 17 years old and weigh at least 110 pounds are eligible to donate. You may donate if you have diabetes; tattoos; piercings; a history of cancer (last treatment was 5+ years ago); heart procedures (6 + months ago, no symptoms, NOT taking blood thinner, ASPIRIN is ok); sickle cell trait; most medications including: steroids, psychiatric drugs, blood pressure or cholesterol lowering drugs, pain medications, thyroid medications; no travel restrictions (if you have been out of the country in the last few months).
 
It only takes an hour to give blood to save another’s life!
 
Email Karon Parrish as soon as possible with a time you can donate. Please pass the word to others in the community as well. They may email me a time when they can donate. 
 
BEFORE YOU donate, please:

  • EAT A GOOD MEAL AND DRINK EXTRA FLUID
  • BRING YOUR RED CROSS DONOR CARD IF YOU HAVE ONE OR A PHOTO I.D.

    It might be good to know that both the Monticello hospital and Warren hospital get their blood from LifeShare, which is stationed out of Monroe, LA.
