Advantages of Southeast Arkansas, formerly the Drew County Developmental Disabilities Council, will celebrate the grand opening of their new facility, Tuesday, from 1-3 pm.

They will be giving tours of both the new preschool and the new location of the adult center that was previously located on Trotter St.

The Discovery Children’s Center is approx. 20,000 sq. ft. and provides private daycare, voucher services and Developmental Disabilities Early Intervention Services that are funded by Medicaid, ARkids 1st and TEFRA. The Children’s Center provides prescribed speech, occupational and physical therapy services on- site. The building is equipped with security cameras that monitor all classrooms, common areas and playground areas.

Adult Services are paid by Medicaid and assist developmentally disabled individuals learning the skills needed to work and live independently in their community.

The public is encouraged to attend and tour the facilities.
