City Of Monticello To Host Town Hall Meeting For Main Street Residents, Tuesday Jan. 30th
January 30th, 2024 by

The City of Monticello will host a Town Hall Meeting for Main Street residents related to water and sewer line relocation easements. A thorough project explanation will be given to residents as to what will occur.
The Mayors Office has asked McClelland Engineering, who in March of 2022 was hired by the City for the engineering of the Main Street water and sewer line replacement and relocation project to come to Monticello and explain to Main Street residents and any interested parties exactly what this project entails.
Engineers from McClelland Engineering will give project and easement details and easement forms to residents as well as answer questions from citizens.
The Mayor’s Office wants a project of this size to be very clear and transparent to the community and residents affected. Town Hall type forums are a great way to answer questions and move forward with water and sewer related improvements.
Some of the current water lines and valves being replaced have been in place for over 100 years and have been a source of recurring maintenance for the city for decades, not to mention effected water quality.
The Town Hall event will be focused specifically on the Main Street water line relocation project and the citizens and homes affected by this project. To give the matter the attention it deserves, no other topics will be on the agenda.
The date of the meeting is January 30, 2024.
The location of the meeting is the Sadie Johnson Community Center. The address is 707 Highway 278 East in Monticello, Arkansas.
The meeting will be a come and go event that will go from 4:00 p.m – 7:00 p.m.
ALL MAIN STREET RESIDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND.
