This is a horrible idea. We have large (18 wheelers) emergency response vehicles that MUST to travel these routes on an almost daily basis. Roundabouts an tractor-trailer rigs dont belong together. Going through the college campus IS NOT AN OPTION.
This is a idea. There should be traffic lights! Just because other towns have these doesn’t mean we have to copy. This will be a disaster in these areas.
Really the traffic is already horrible let’s add a roundabout so we can see more accidents. ThiS should really be considered or let the people that this TRULY effects vote on this option I’m sure not one person that frequents these areas during school think this is a good idea!!
We need a lot of things done to the streets of Monticello but do you think this is the best use of our money? No, I don’t see this as an advantage to helping with traffic. They may look pretty from a bird’s eye view but they are terrible to drive thru. They make you think who dreamed this up!
The red light was never fixed at the square. People can barely manage to navigate the square correctly on a good day or where 278 comes back together from 1 way to 2 directions past sav a lot.
And to think a roundabout is something worth spending money on instead of improving other much needed areas is crazy.
And to put it there of all places, why don’t we put it on 425/278? Boy that would be super freaking genius!! Just like this.
The only upside is it’s close to the hospital for all the wrecks that will happen.
How about the tax payers that pay for this actually vote, and VOTE NO!
I don’t know if the people planning this have driven alot around monticello but seeing as I have I will say this. There seems to be a lot of people that struggle driving straight down roads, have trouble with right of way and stopping at stop sign not to mention over 90% of the turn signals in this town don’t work ,Do we really want to throw a quantum math problem on the bad drivers in this town?
Only someone with a towing truck business would consider this a good idea.
