Child Porn Results in Plea Bargain & Probation, for Monticello Man

According to court records, this case began on March 20, this year, when the defendant Russell Langley, came in contact with a 10 year-old female, on Instagram, before the conversation moved to Facebook Messenger.
The child and her parents knew Langley from a musical they had been in, together, previously.
The 10-year-old‘s mother, along with another family member, set up fake Facebook and Instagram accounts, with the name “ Bre’Anna.” A conversation developed with Langley and Bre’Anna, who claim to be 17, turning 18 soon.
After Langley asked for photos and mentioned sex, “Bre’Anna” told him that she was actually 15, and “would be 16 in April.“
Langley then continued and explained some specific acts to her, including some involving him.
The case was turned over to Monticello Police Department on March 22, for investigation, which led to charges being files for computer child pornography, a class B felony.
Langley pleaded guilty to the charge of attempted computer child pornography and was sentenced to 10 years of supervised probation, by Drew County Circuit Bynum Gibson, Monday.
The 63-year-old is also required to register as a sex offender.
