Abuse of Park Dumpsters Could Lead to their Removal. Call 367-3415 for Free Home Pick-up of Large Items – Video

At the recent Parks Commission meeting, Mayor Anderson and other city officials were present. One of the topics discussed was the overfilling of the city park dumpsters, as well as construction debris and other piles of garbage being left on the ground, there.
Solutions discussed included publicizing the fact that the city has a free home “large item pick up service” on Wednesdays. Residents need to call 367-3415, before the Wednesday pick up, to schedule this free service of large home items.
Construction and remodeling debris needs to be hauled to the county landfill, not left at a dumpster or other inappropriate site.
The use of surveillance cameras, citations, and removal of dumpsters was also discussed, but they all hope that a plea to the public for their assistance takes care of the problem.
