Police & Investigator Testify in Murder Trial

The first officer described the scene, upon his arrival, and the attempts he made to save the victim, until the ambulance arrived.
Another officer then told of his arrival, and finding a spent shell casing, outside of the door, which he turned over to the investigator.
MPD investigator Kenny Cox then detailed the location where Bell and the passenger picked up Veasey (Kennedy Blvd.), where something was thrown out of the truck (Willis St. & Mason Hill), and where he got out of the vehicle (Willis & Pine Streets).
From 2:15-3:00 pm was spent confirming that Cox thoroughly understood the application of “Universal Co-ordinated Time”, which seemed to be an attempt to lose the jury’s attention. The alleged purpose was to confirm the time texts were sent, in relation to the time of the death. Even though charts were presented, explaining the conversion process, the court still didn’t accept the testimony.
The Jury was sent out of the room, while Judge Bynum Gibson scolded the attorneys, as he had done twice, earlier in the day.
Defense attorney Jimmy Morris then asked for a mistrial, which was denied.
