Grant Pace Enters State Rep Race

Joel “Grant” Pace, 54, resident of Monticello, Arkansas, has lived his entire life in Drew County.
Pace was born in Wilmar, Arkansas where he graduated from Wilmar High. The Pace family has deep roots in the community. Pace’s father was president of the Drew County Fair Board for 20 years and a board member for Drew County Farm Bureau for 52 years. Despite his father being a respected farmer in the community, Pace took more interest in timber. At 20, he began working for Pomeroy McGowan Forestry Consultants as a timber cruiser. In the subsequent years and places of employment, he took on more responsibility. Notable companies in which he has been employed include Georgia Pacific in Crossett and Monticello, 15 years, and Timber Logistics, 9 years. Currently, he is joint owner of Regions Forest Services, a forestry contract business where he runs a team in addition to outsourcing five other teams.
In the timber industry, there are no 8-5 jobs. Pace is on call at all times for the loggers and land owners with whom he works. With 34 years of experience, Pace understands the industry and the issues that manifest from it. Because of this, Pace got involved with Drew County Farm Bureau where he has served as secretary and president. He is currently a board member for Ashley County Farm Bureau. At the state level, Pace has operated as the forestry chair of Arkansas Farm Bureau for 6 years. At the national level, Pace served on the advisory council for American Farm Bureau for 7 years.
Pace has been married for 31 years. He and his wife share a son together who is 23-years-old. Time spent together typically includes supporting the University of Arkansas at Monticello athletic programs. Pace has held the position of Sports Foundation President for two years. Pace along with his wife and son have volunteered for Drew County Log-a-Load for Kids for 22 years, a nonprofit started by community timber industry leaders to raise money for Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
