Defense’s Closing Argument

At 10:20, public defender Steve Porch addressed the jury, recalling the doctor’s report. He then told that Arnold told her, just before his death, that he was the man who attacked her at the lake, and he was going to do it again. She then pushed him off the back steps, breaking them. She got the pistol, and went towards the front door and her vehicle, but he caught her, and she shot him.
The state closed their statement by saying, “Mr. Porch has convicted Sam Arnold of (her attack), based only on his client’s testimony.”
He also pointed out that no one will ever know know what happened there, because Hackett had destroyed any evidence that would’ve supported her claim of his actions, that day.
The jury went into deliberations at 10:45.
