Railroad Track Washes Out, East of Monticello

Around 5 PM, Thursday evening, the Arkansas Midland railroad track, between Monticello and Dermott, washed out due to the heavy floodwaters.
Specifically the railroad section that the bedding washed out from, is located between the Collins and Baxter communities.
No one was injured, and no train was in the area, when the washout occurred.
The washout was noticed by members of the Collins-Cominto fire department. Drew County OEM was notified, as was Arkansas Midland.
No estimate is available, at post time, as to when it will be repaired, and train traffic able to resume.
