Update – Burchfield Pleads Guilty to McGehee Murder, Gets Life Sentence

According to prosecuting attorney Thomas Deen, Monday, a southeast Arkansas man accepted a guilty plea to the charge of first-degree murder of a 33 year old McGehee woman.
Danny Joe Burchfield, age 27, pled guilty to first degree murder in the November 26, 2014, murder of Rebekah Singh of McGehee.
Circuit Judge Sam Pope imposed the recommended sentence of life imprisonment, and the charge of abuse of a corpse was dismissed.
Ashley Almaraz Alonso, age 26, who was charged with hindering the apprehension of Burchfield by police, will be on trial in Desha County on October 6-8.
