1 Dead, 1 Injured in Late Night Shooting

At approximately 11:30 pm, Sunday night, Monticello Police officers responded to a shots fired call on South Gabbert Street in Monticello.
Upon arrival, two subjects inside the residence had been shot.
Eric Thompson, age 46 of Monticello, died at the scene, from his injuries.
The other person, the suspect in the case, was transported to an unspecified hospital, also suffering from gunshot wounds.
No other details are being released at this time.
