Hall Files Federal Lawsuit Against All 5 Circuit Judges for Civil Rights Violations

June 17th, 2015 by

courtroom jury boxJim Hall, a Monticello man, has filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court against all five Drew County circuit judges, 2 prosecutors, and the circuit clerk, charging them with rights violations against him.

Documents received by MLive show the lawsuit was filed in Pine Bluff, Monday.

Circuit Judges Kenneth Johnson, Teresa French, Don Glover, Bynum Gibson, and Sam Pope, were listed individually, and in their official capacity as circuit judges. Prosecuting attorneyThomas Dean, along with deputy prosecutor Frank Spain, and circuit clerk Beverly Burks, were also listed in the lawsuit.

In the case’s complaint, Hall specifies actions, and in actions, and multiple cases that he was involved in. Those cases include the adoption of his children, along with custody, visitation, violation, and content hearings dealing with the adoption.

Hall listed a contempt of court charge, which he served five days in jail.

The next paragraph in Hall’s complaint lists multiple times judges recused themselves from hearing his cases, causing other judges to be selected.

Hall then described another hearing where he was accused of harassment, but was ordered to spend five days in jail on contempt of court charges for bringing up the solicitation accusations, against the earlier judges instructions.

His allegations against the circuit clerk describe her as being “rude and unco-operative” and stating that court dates were unavailable.

Hall’s filing states that his first, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, and 14th amendments to the Constitution were violated.

No dates or other information or available at this time.
