Police Release Details of McGehee School Stabbings

According to the McGehee Police department, there was an incident at McGehee High School at approximately 9:45a.m., this morning. Police responded to call advising a fight in the boy’s bathroom with injuries requiring policeman and EMT.The first call was received at 9:45 a.m. officers arrived on the scene at 9:49 a.m. Preliminary reports indicate a verbal exchange between 3 or 4 African American juveniles over the use of the “N-word” culminated into a physical altercation in the boy’s bathroom at the High School lobby. Three students all juveniles received injuries and were transported all by ambulance, 1 to Chicot Memorial in Lake Village and 2 were transported to the Local McGehee Hospital for treatment. The extent of the injuries are not known at this time but are not believe to be life threatening although any injury to a student is taken seriously. Charges are expected to be filed through the juvenile system, no further information is available due to the continuing investigation, the juvenile’s status and HIPPA Laws involved with the parties involved.
