Duck Hunters Survive Overturned Boat in 10° Drew County Waters

2 duck hunters and their retriever dog survived their boat overturning at 6:30 Tuesday morning, in the 10° chilling waters of Tillar Break, near HWY 278 East.
Drew County OEM Michael Frisby, Monticello Fire Chief Kelly Reid, Drew County Sheriff Deputies, and AG&F officers quickly responded to the call, where both McGehee men (believed to be in their 20s) and their dog were in the water.
According to reports, one of the men was able to get back into the boat, and the other was able to roll across the frozen water, until he reached a safe spot to stand.
Both men were taken to McGehee Hospital for treatment.

MASI responseded to the call and transported the hunter to the ER in McGehee. A job well done by all who responded.
Mcgehee fire department also were called to scene and helped get the young men to warmth.
