Ashley County Deputy Sheriff’s Abductor Arrested, Deputy Released, at Circle N

The Ashley County Sheriff’s Dept. contacted MPD Dispatch, around 11:30 pm, last Friday night, reporting that a school resource officer (also a county deputy) had been taken against her will by an ex-boyfriend, and the vehicle was headed toward Monticello.
Drew County and Monticello officers located the vehicle at the Circle N convenience store, and apprehended the suspect, the parking lot, without incident.
The Ashley County Ledger reports that Thomas Lee Swygart , age 53 of Dumas, was charged with false imprisonment, carrying a weapon, and aggravated assault.
His bond was set at $25,000, and he held in the Ashley County Jail. Reliable Towing impounded the vehicle.
The Arkansas State Police are assisting in the investigation.
