5 young Monticello men have each been charged with multiple counts of commercial burglary, following their arrest for the burglaries that have recently taken place at Monticello High School, Drew Central High School, Pauline Baptist Church, and Warrior of Arkansas.

Erickson Skinner, age 19; John Bo Kelley, age 18; David A. Leonard, age 18; and 2 un-named 17 year old males hae been charged with 3 to 7 counts of each of the crime.  The 17 year old youths are reportedly near to the age of 18, and may be tried as adults, pending a decision by the prosecuting attorney’s office.

According to Lt. Steven Stain of the Monticello Police Dept., approximately 90% of the property taken during the thefts has been recovered, and is in the process of being returned to it’s owners.  The majority of items taken fell under the catagory of computer equipment, electronic equipment, and ipod related devices.

Bond has been set at $2,500 signature bond for each of the 3 adults, along with them being ordered to serve under “house arrest” by the court, meaning electronic monitoring by the wearing of an ankle bracelet, and only being allowed to leave the residence for work.  The “house arrest” stipulation also covers the minors, at this time.

The court required the youths sign their own signature bonds (not their parents).  Also, they are being held personnally resposible for the costs of their home detention fees.
