At approximately 12:22, p.m., Thursday afternoon, Lacey Ladelle firefighters, Drew County sheriffs deputies and OEM responded to a house fire, on Midway Route, in the 2000 block.

No injuries were reported.

The Student Nurses Association (SNA) at the University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM) recently received two awards at the 2024 Arkansas Nursing Students’ Association (ANSA) Annual Convention on the campus of Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas. SNA, whose members are current students in the School of Nursing at UAM, won both the Image of Nursing Award and the Breakthrough to Nursing Award. (more…)

Recently,I’m students, faculty and staff from UAM had the opportunity to participate in two free on-campus Civic Arkansas Listening Sessions, which are designed to encourage attendees to envision the ideal form of civic engagement in their community and consider how they can influence progress toward that vision. On Thursday, November 14, the Fred J. Taylor Library and Technology Center at the University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM) hosted a reception to celebrate a large donation of botanical literature and the establishment of a new scholarship in honor of the late Dr. James L. Zarucchi, a distinguished botanist. The event recognized Dr. Zarucchi’s contributions to botany and highlighted the expanded resources now available for research and education at the university.
