Drew County Juvenille Judge Teresa French, Thursday, heard the case on a 14 year old, responsible for a series of at least 11 recent break-ins in Monticello. A sentence of 30 days to be served in a state approved locked facility, followed by being entered into a court approved behavioral facility, for an unspecified length of time, has been recommed as a sentence.

The 10 year old involved was not formally charged.

UPDATE—2 Juveniles Charged with 11 Business Thefts UPDATE—Juvenile Charged with 11 Business Thefts over Past 2 Weeks  

Two juveniles led police on a chase through the country Monday night in an attempt to escape from multiple charges of commercial burglary and theft of property.

The two underage suspects have been responsible for at least 11 recent break-ins, including 971 Salon, Outdoor Store, Stone Fox, Club Hair,  AT&T, and the 2 at Shelter Insurance, among possibly others.

Wednesday, thefts from Mazzio’s Pizza, Hyatt’s Street’s Snow Cone stand, and two stolen 4 all-terrain vehicles from the Outdoor Store, were add to the list of vitims. (The  2 ATVs had been previously recovered.)

They were apprehended in the Greenhill area, after the car they had stolen, ran off the road.

    I feel sorry for all the property owners that had damage and were THE victims. I hope the children get the help they need.
