2 Car, 1 Fire Hydrant Collision Sunday
November 30th, 2008 by Joe BurgessDonna Harris was crossing North Main Street around noon Sunday, as she was traveling east on Oakland Street, when her 1995 GM model collided with the Cadillac sedan shown here.
Harris was charged with driving on a suspended license.
No one was injured in the accident, however, the Cadillac did leave the roadway and drove over a fire hydrant. It can be seen by clicking on the photo below.
The Monticello Police, Fire, and City crews were all called to the scene. Lock & Keys removed the Caddy from the fire hydrant.
The fire plug was installed on a “break-away” plug, so that it safely snapped off, instead of breaking the supply pipe, and showering the area.
