100 UAM students join thousands in Atlanta
Published by Jeff January 3rd, 2007 in News.
Passion conferences began in January 1997 with 1800 young adults in attendance and quickly grew each year. Passion also hosts "One Day" events around the country which have drawn as many as 40,000 collegians from around the world.
Passion seeks to lead students in passionate worship, expose them to biblically grounded teaching and provide practical avenues for mnistry during and after the conferences. While in Atlanta, participants are encouraged to "Do It Now" through different means of holistic ministry, one being donation of clothes for the homeless.
Rob Leonard, director of UAM’s Missionary Baptist Student Foundation; Dave Johnston, director of UAM’s Baptist Collegiate Ministry, and students from First Baptist Monticello took students to Atlanta for the event. It started January 1 and will continue through January 4. We hope to be bringing you some updates and photos and articles from these collegiate ministries throughout today and tomorrow.
